Chutney is clearly crafted with heart and the attention to detail is amazing. One of the rare instances where truly inspired design and quality content meet.
This issue covers cactus paddles, tent diplomacy and homeland dysphoria among other topics, with features by a wide range of contributors across creative practices (from architecture to poets) and cultural historians.
Great for: Graphic designers, informed activists and people who simply love good storytelling.
Examining the influence of music (particularly hip hop) and creativity on the larger lived experience, Brick focuses in on Memphis for this issue. There they found inspiration and a thriving creative network, and Brick is one of the rare magazines that recognizes the complex collaboration it takes for any project to succeed—it’s rarely one person in a vacuum.
Great for: Pop culture obsessives, DJs, all-around creatives, and folks who keep their sneakers clean.

If there was ever a magazine that represented the New York City I know—it’s Byline. The design is sharp but unfussy while the content is honest and genuinely interesting. It’s like going to a party where you actually meet and talk to a bunch of good people.
This issue focuses on the theme of Risk and includes a mix of content centered around that. From quitting corporate jobs to working at a grocery store to being a council person attempting to make a positive impact.
Not necessarily newsworthy or particularly timely, these are pieces written by folks driven by passion and Byline just provided a proper platform.
Great for: Multi-hyphenated career folks, people you’re trying to convice to live in New York, and avid journal-ers.
